WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

We encourage you to use the following link to book in your shoot prep call:

https://bit.ly/mmpcallreq

This is the call where we will go over all of the key information with you before you shoot and make sure we are on the same page.

Some of our best tips are listed down below based on the type of photoshoot you’re having with us.

Preparing For Your newborn photoshoot:

  • Plan to feed your baby when you arrive to your session and plan to arrive in the studio 15 minutes before your session time, so baby can be topped up. For a lot of couples this will be the first time you’ll be leaving the house with your newborn, it may take you a bit longer than you expect.

  • Upon arrival your baby will be undressed and swaddled in one of our wraps. At this time we will ask you to feed your baby again.

  • If bottle feeding, please bring along a bottle.

  • Don’t forget to bring spare nappies.

  • If you use a dummy please keep it nearby. If you don’t, don’t worry about it.

  • Please check your emails or follow the link below to fill out our ‘Newborn Styling Guide Questionnaire Form’ - This where you select the beautiful props and styling options that we will provide for the shoot.

  • We need to make sure everyone is comfortable. Please note our studio is air conditioned for the comfort of your baby and family.

  • To personalise your shoot, bring your babies favourite soft toy or a blanket that a relative made or gifted. Family heirlooms and items that reflect your passions in life can also be great to include.

  • You might love sports, music, video games etc… Bring some props that will help reflect your passions and interests, while also highlighting the scale of your tiny newborn baby.

Preparing For Your family photoshoot:

Whether your photoshoot is outdoors or in the studio, our sessions are designed to be more than just a series of posed photos; they are about spending quality time together, creating beautiful memories that reflect your family's unique bond. Whether it's the playful laughter of your children, the toddler tantrums,  or the quiet moments of connection, we aim to document the moments that matter most. To help you make the most of your session, we've compiled some tips to ensure it's a fun and relaxed experience.

  • Aim to arrive in the neighbourhood 15 mins before your session. Being on time is so important, it ensures we can get the most out of your session.

  • Talk to your kids about the session being a fun adventure. Don't make it out to be something they have to be good and "behave" for. Instead talk about how they'll be playing and having a great time with the photographer, and that they'll capture those joyful moments. This helps set a positive tone and reduces pressure.

  • Explain to your kids that the photoshoot is about spending time together as a family and showing how much they love each other. This can make them feel special and more willing to participate.

  • Schedule the session at a time when your children are usually happy and well-rested. Avoid times when they might be hungry or tired to help ensure a smoother experience.

  • If your child has a favourite toy or blanket, bring it along. These items can provide comfort and can also be a cute addition to the photos.

  • Bring along some non-messy snacks and water. A quick snack break can work wonders if kids start to get restless or need a little boost.

  • Be Yourself! Encourage everyone to just be themselves. Genuine emotions and interactions always create the most memorable and heartfelt photographs.

  • Relax and enjoy the moment: Remember, the session is about capturing your family’s unique story. Enjoy the time together, and let the moments unfold naturally.

Preparing For Your dog photoshoot:

We offer both in studio and outdoor shoots for dogs. We aim to capture the beautiful and candid connections between you and your furry best friend. They are in a lot of cases your first baby, and definitely a member of the family. We want to capture those playful moments, as well as some more thoughtful introspective portraits for you to enjoy for years to come.

We’ve compiled some tips below to ensure you and your furry best friend get the most out of the session:

  • Aim to arrive in the neighbourhood 15 mins before your session. Being on time is so important, it ensures we can get the most out of your session.

  • Please ensure that you bring some of your dogs favourite treats and toys to the photoshoot. we want them to be comfortable with things that they’re familiar with.

  • Toys can ensure we capture some awesome action shots and treats ensure we can capture the beautiful posed shots we’re looking for. We have an endless supply of pigs ears and treats for your dog.

  • If this shoot is outdoors, be sun smart, bring water for you and your dog. No one looks good while dehydrated : )

  • We recommend burning off a little bit of your dog’s energy before the photoshoot to make them a little bit more calm. This is particularly important for our studio dog shoots.

  • Please ensure that your shoot is booked for a time when your doggo is most active and rested.

what to wear:

You need to feel like you, always

While it's lovely to dress up for your photos, it's more important that you feel like yourself. Don’t feel pressured to wear something too formal if it doesn’t suit your style; it’s better to be comfortable and enjoy the moment than to feel stiff and out of place.

Choose outfits from your own wardrobe that you already love – those pieces that make you feel amazing every time you wear them. Comfort is key! Just ensure that your clothing is clean, neat, and freshly ironed, so you can look and feel your best.

Top Clothing Tips:

  • Keep the tone of the outfits similar. Either all lighter or all darker. If one person is in a lighter tone than the rest, that person will stick out.

  • Start with the fussiest person to pick the outfit for. Once you have decided on what that person is wearing, its easy to select the other family members’ outfits to match.

  • Look at the colours in your house, your furniture and decor and select an outfit thats going to tie in with your home. You'll want to display these images on the walls and if you've chosen a colour that doesn't work with the rest of your home they won’t match as well.

  • Avoid logos and distracting patterns. These will date your images and draw attention away from your features. Keeping it simple is best.

  • Don't wear baggy loose clothing. You might feel more comfortable in it, but it will make you look bigger than you are. Well fitting clothes are the best.

  • Spend the time on your makeup or treat yourself and get a makeup artist to do it for you. You want to keep it natural but it is a rare opportunity to take professional family portraits.

  • Make sure your nails are clean and tidy. Remove any old chipped nail polish and repaint before your session if you'd like them painted. Remember if you're cuddling and holding your kids your hands will be photographed.
