Where is the studio?
Our newborn photography studio is located at 77 Dunning Ave, Rosebery, Unit 406 (on the 4th floor).
The building from the front has 2 large glass doors, and you will see Bloomfield Eatery near the door. When you enter the building, head to the right, come up the lift to level 4 and we are just around the corner.
Please note, the building is closed on weekends, but we are still operating. So, if you have an out of hours appointment, please call us on 9386 4298 when you arrive and we will come down and let you in.
There is street parking - but it can take a while to find - we recommend you drive around the block a couple of times as cars are always coming and going!
Can I choose where I want my photographic session?
Yes! We generally suggest outdoor photography sessions for families where the children are walking. You have so much more fun in an outside shoot and we get those really nice lifestyle images. Some of our favourite places are Fagan Park, Nielsen Park, Centennial Park and around Sydney beaches.
The studio is generally used for newborn sessions and pet photography. Although we do love photographing dogs outside!
We can also come to your home, which really personalises your session.
What should I wear?
The general rule of thumb is to wear simple classic clothing that works really well for all. We suggest beautiful pastels, creams or earthy colours.
Stay clear of wearing logos, stripes and bright colours like red.
For a maternity photography session we suggest bringing a nice large white shirt (maybe your husbands wedding shirt), black leggings, lingerie, singlet top and wearing something that shows off your bump. And again wear a block colour like creams, pastel or black.
The same applies for a newborn photography session. Although with babies we normally take photos of them with lots of skin showing, but if you have a special outfit for them we would love for you to bring it along.
Can you include my pet?
Yes, we truly believe that pets are part of the family, and encourage you to bring them along.
It’s nice to personalise your session, so if you are doing an outdoor session and the kids love playing soccer, bring a soccer ball. As a family if you enjoy playing with a frisby, bring it along!
For a newborn photography session we have many props here like wooden bowls, baskets, beanies, etc, but it’s also nice to bring along something that personalises your session like a family heirloom eg. grandmothers blanket, your wrap from when you were a baby, a teddy bear, etc.
If you are bringing along your pet it’s often best to bring their favourite toy as it makes them feel more at home.
What items do I need to bring?
How long after the session should I expect to receive my images?
At the completion of your photography session we will schedule a viewing appointment, which is generally 1 week after your session. This is where you come into the studio and view your images on a slide show and select your favourite images.
Then it depends on what products you purchase. If you are purchasing just prints they take between 3-4 weeks, frames will take between 4-5 weeks and albums take up to 12 weeks.
Yes we do! We backup onsite and offsite.
Do you backup you images?
MM PHOTOS reserves copyright on all images taken, but we DO NOT use images for any 3rd party purpose, other than our own marketing.
We do use some images for social media eg. Facebook, Instagram, but we get your approval after your viewing session.
Who has the rights to the images?
Your photographer will call you in the morning if it is raining and depending on how heavy it is we can either go ahead or we will reschedule. Rainy or overcast days can produce flattering tones that give very dramatic imagery so rain is nothing to worry about.
What if it rains and we have organised an outdoor shoot?
We have access to a number of talented hair and makeup artists. We require at least one week to arrange and there will be an extra charge of $100.
Do you provide hair and makeup?
Yes we have gift vouchers ranging from $250 – $500. They’re valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
Can I buy MM PHOTOS gift vouchers?
There is no limit to the number of people. However, there is an extra charge of $100 for 10 plus people.
How many people can I bring to my photography session?
You can change your appointment time, but just require 24 hours notice
What happens if I need to change my appointment time?
We just you allow for 1 to 1.5 hours for your photography session. Sometimes you are having so much fun they could go for 2 hours.
With regards to newborn photography sessions please allow for a minimum of 2 hours.
How long will the photo session take?
We take unlimited shots, however the edited suite of images presented will include approximately 50 images for you to view.
How many photos do you take in a session?
Yes we do limited retouching ie. take away fly away hair, smooth the skin, even the skin tones, etc. We are not a big retouching studio as we prefer that very natural style. If you would like specific retouching we can definitely do it and we take specific notes during the viewing session.
Do you do retouching?
We schedule your viewing session after your photography session, which is normally a week after. During the viewing is where you select your favourite images and then select what artwork you would like. We have a wide range of print, framing and album options for you to choose from. Our friendly team will take you through the options and assist you in placing the order.
How do we order our photos?
We are a professional portraiture studio and prefer to give our clients a final product that can be enjoyed by families for generations. We do also supply the images you purchase on our app, which you can share between family members and friends and also upload onto social media.
Can I purchase the images on USB?
There is street parking around our studio in Rosebery. Immediately outside the building are 1 hour spots. There are various time limited spots in the surrounding streets, from 1 hour, 2 hours or all day. Cars are always coming and going, so do a few laps of our block. If you can’t find anything there, try around Sweet Street/Rothschilds Street area (a short walk away) .
